Founded by Tunisians the “Poulina Group” was created on July 14, 1967. First, Mr. Abdelwahed Ben Ayed and eight other associates created the company for poultry breeding called “Poulina.” Then, the company “Poulina” diversified its products and reoriented its activities by positioning itself not just as a company of poultry products, but also as a company offering breeders all of the poultry services and products needed (poultry products, chicks, foods, etc…). Consequently, breeding became a national and an export business. Along the same line of diversification, and in order to make up for the restricted size of the market, the company has grown in more industrial sectors. Therefore, it was decided to open specialized sales points in poultry products. Progressively, the different services of the company have become subsidiaries of Poulina. In parallel to the poultry activity, the company Poulina has developed manufacturing and food activities.
POULINA has also grown horizontally, by creating subsidiaries in new domains such as the chemical sector with Nadhif detergents, and in the mechanical sector in 1975 with the creation of the GAN (Grands Ateliers du Nord).
After the decade of growth and expansion, the economical entity POULINA has become a group of companies operating in diverse sectors.
Towards the end of the 1980, the Group Poulina entered a new phase of diversification by developing many new products: frozen foods, mufflers, refrigerators, fast food chains, plastic products, wood, ceramics ...
In 2005, the Group Poulina restructured itself targeting an organization with activities poles that resulted in the repartition of the companies in activity branches more or less homogeneous and the apparition of 5 distinct groups for which a work of consolidation of accounts had been done.
